Service Description

If your kid has been "making stuff" for years and would like to turn his or her ideas into products that they can build a business around, this program is for them! 25 weeks of skill-building, design challenges, and learning from seasoned fashion industry professionals. Each student will design their own collection, learn how to price, market, package, and sell both wholesale and retail and gain mentors and resources along the way. There will be field trips, a pop-up shop, and a pitch competition where the winner will be awarded seed funding for their enterprise. Although entrepreneurship is a lot of work; we will also have a ton of fun! Meeting Tuesdays from 4pm-5:30pm from November - May. Because this program has been partially funded by a supplemental grant and in partnership with Lenguire Institute of Fashion, the $25 registration fee is the only financial obligation. Ages 10-18 IMPORTANT: Although we will do some sewing, this is not a sewing class. Students don't need to know how to sew unless they will be making sewn products. Whether they will be making crocheted products or jewelry or heat-pressed products or hand-painted shoes or any other kind of fashion merchandise they must come to this program with experience doing so. Their skills will be fine-tuned here.
